What is Propel Accelerator?
Propel Accelerator is software that you install on your computer that speeds up downloads of web pages and e-mail to your computer. Propel is available as part of the Enhanced Dial-up package.
I've installed Propel, but my connections are still the same speed. Is Propel working?
Propel does not increase the speed of your connection, but compresses the data from web pages and e-mail so that it will download faster. When you click on the link for a web page, the Propel icon in the System Tray (the lower right corner of your screen) will show two arrows. This means Propel is working properly.
Can I use Mozilla FireFox browser with Propel Accelerator?
Yes. Some configuration of Mozilla is needed before it can be used with Propel Accelerator.Windows steps for Mozilla FireFox browser:
1. Click on the Tools
2. Click on Options.
3. Within General click on Connection settings
4. Click the radio button Manual proxy configuration
5. Click in the box HTTP Proxy: and enter localhost
6. In the Port area enter the Propel Accelerator port number (8080)
7. Click OK.
